Happy Nude Year
Jan 1st, 2009 by MPC Press
Stripping down to the basics in 2009. Yes, it’s all about the bare necessities this year. “If I don’t need it, I’m not buying it.” Toothpaste, milk, lightbulbs, certainly. No new clothes. What about socks–not when you can see the skin, but when there is actually a hole? How about shoe polish? Sales of shoe polish should really take off; who is going to pay $5+ for a shoe shine when that is the cost of a can that will last a year? (There are no pure play public shoe polish companies fyi.) And your children’s education? That is an area where you should spend, particularly on children’s books! Of course, if we all have a limited spending attitude, the economy is going nowhere. Well, there have to be a significant amount of big spenders still around, even if the number has shrunk. This will help and after a year of the rest of us saving money, we may be able to change our spending habits and spark the economy…it will take time but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Let’s just hope that the government doesn’t use too much of our cash to ruin us for years! Happy Nude Year!
